Lilies In Bloom was established in 1986 by Gordon
and Bess Hampson and developed as a small family business. We are full-time
specialist growers and retailers, dedicated entirely to garden lily bulbs and
flowering lily plants.
As well as our mail order and internet customers, we also welcome thousands
of visitors each summer to our beautiful display of lilies, set against a
backdrop of the sparkling blue waters of Golden Bay.
We are tucked away in the small diverse community of Tukurua, situated 18km
north of Takaka, on New Zealand's South Island and just a stone's throw away
from one of Golden Bay's finest beaches.
Our nursery is open to the public. Unique within New Zealand, our extended
flowering season produces lily plants in bloom from November through to the
end of March, with the peak time for blooming being late November to late
February.
Our covered display area also makes viewing the lillies possible in all weather
conditions.
Admission is free and visitors are welcome to browse and picnic on the beach.
Lilies in Bloom are open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., year-round
(except sometimes in winter for our holidays).
We were featured on New Zealand's most popular television gardening programme,
"Maggie's Garden Show" (March 2001) and in the "New Zealand Gardener Magazine"
(April 1999).

The Lilly bulbs arrived.. each one looks wonderful. Arena was a little
moister than the others but they are in tip top shape.
Such a long travel for them and they look so fresh.. Much better than the
ones I purchase here in the stores.
Thank you for all the effort you go through to have these beautiful flowers. Looking forward to a rewarding garden of lilies here in Oregon or Arizona,
where we plan to move as soon as this place sells.
I am going to put them in pots as we have rodents here that enjoy them much
too much and especially because I want to have them in view all the time they
